Fishing The River Avon

Fishing the river Avon is a truly wild fishing experience with a wide selection of pools and riffles to give excellent sport. Originally an excellent dry fly river, in recent years nymph fishing has probably come to the fore and is reflected in the catch returns. The annual sea trout and salmon returns are steadily improving, check some of the web site pictures. As well as our own managed beat 4 on the River Avon, we have access to beats 3 Upstream and 5 downstream towards Grangemouth, so all the way from the Avon Gorge bridge downstream to the Union canal aqueduct, onwards past the railway viaduct all the way down to Todds Mill and onwards towards the Polmont hill Ski slope just above the Jinkabout bridge, some 17 km of fishing. See the beat River maps for clear access, directions, pool names, beat boundaries and access.
