The new fishing season has arrived. As always we welcomed this with a few words and a celebratory dram beside the Johnny Hamilton memorial bench just below the Quarry bridge on lower beat 4. The weather was somewhat against us preventing an insect kick sample or indeed any fishing as the river was very high and murky. At the time of writing (Monday 18th) the river looks amazing, running clear and its height dropping, always the best time to fish.
The keen among us also met here to take part in a litter pick, we managed to fill 24 bags, an old water tank and 5 car tyres.
